The National Trust
of Australia (Tasmania) fully agrees with and supports the work we are
doing to create a memorial to Malua, the most versatile horse ever to race
in Australia. The Managing Director, Mr Chris Tassell, will accept your
donation for this purpose and hold it in the Malua Memorial Fund until
we (MMIG) need it. The memorial will be created by the end of 2009, in
Deloraine, the town where Malua was bred at Calstock. It is anticipated
that the memorial will consist of a construction such as a life size bronze
or similar, and a book recording the life of Malua, his progeny and the
families who owned him.
Organisations and individuals raising major amounts (as outlined below) will be named specially on the memorial to Malua: Gold Donors over $2000, Silver Donors over $1000 and Bronze Donors over $500.
It
is likely that a book about Malua and the Memorial will also be produced
and the Major Donor list will be included in that. (Space permitting, all
donors will be mentioned.)
