The resort has offered us some
package deals for our jazz week end. We will include a price package as
soon as it becomes available. There are three venues if we wish to utilize
them, a great view, tennis, squash, an indoor heated pool and an outdoor
pool, a view, fishing, kayak hire and possible boat trips did I mention
the view?
And position position position.
The manager and staff are very
friendly and willing to please. We are looking forward to our first festival
at the resort. Don’t forget there is a lot of other accommodation and stuff
all around the area very close; but the festival will be at the Eastcoaster
Resort.

HOBART
Any one visiting the state should not miss the Friday session (every
Friday) in the courtyard at Salamanca (behind the arts centre)
It's free, is run by the musicians,
it has various bands ranging from jazz to multi cultural types. Some of
my favourites are Red Hot Roosters, Tania Bosic and Shemozzle.
It runs from about 5.30pm till 7.30pm. It's outdoors and usually
happens rain or shine. they sell beer, hot and cold wine and soft drinks.
Lots of musos and all types hang there. |

Roz Pearson sent out word about a lounge bar and restaurant called
'Gilt'
situated on Sandy Bay Road (next to The Metz), where you can

snack - a home away from home - serves delicious food and drinks
- set in beautiful gardens - take the whole family to listen to live music
four nights and two afternoons a week.
Thursday night 6-9pm and Saturday
afternoon 1-4pm you can sit and listen or have a chat with piano man and
raconteur Steve Young as he plays and sings the blues and jazz standards.
Friday nights 6-9pm Steve Mannering
and yours truly perform some hot saucy jazz.
Saturday night 6-9pm have a listen
